Bankroll is one of the fundamental concepts in poker strategy, without which it is impossible to win in the long run. This calculator allows you to calculate the safe bankroll size depending on your win rate and game type.
This calculator is based on the exponential risk function for going broke in games with normal or approximately normal result distributions over a distance. Such games primarily include fixed and no-limit hold'em (NLHE), as well as pot-limit omaha (PLO). Since the results provided are derived from a mathematical formula, they are not absolutely accurate but serve as a close approximation of the described types of games.
The chart above shows the deepest downswings in big blinds (Y axis) experienced by 566 profitable players over distances ranging from 100K to 760K hands, depending on their win rate (X axis).
